AEGEE Istanbul

Agora is the international plenary organized twice a year in order to direct AEGEE, to discuss the motions and new projects, to make decisions for the development of the organization, starting out with the motto “beyond the borders of Europe”, and to direct the international youth policies. In these sessions, the delegates vote on behalf of their locals both for CD (Comite Directeur) and the other selections for AEGEE structures. AEGEE Istanbul is going to host for the Autumn Agora 2010, which some 1000 members will attend and will last four days.
The reason why Agora of this year is so important is the 25th year of foundation of AEGEE. It is expected that the participation will be broad.
Within the Agora project, a theme was decided by AEGEE Istanbul. And this theme was framed within the fact that Istanbul is the European Capital of Culture in 2010. Fire, air, earth and water, which are the main parts of the project of European Capital of Culture, were determined as project theme.
Within this theme, it is planned to make a range of activities so that we can introduce Istanbul and our culture. So we will have supported the activities to be made within the European Capital of Culture project and contributed to the advertisement of our country. And we can deal with the prejudices against our country thanks to the activities to be made together with about 1000 European young people.
